On November 18 in Johannesburg, South Africa’s white minority government and black political leaders came together to approve a new constitution. Two years in the making, this new constitution includes the nation’s first bill of rights and guidelines for eliminating all traces of apartheid. This new constitution must now go before the South African Parliament for final approval. Elections in South Africa are scheduled for April 27. close
