President Clinton briefed the press on his feelings concerning the accomplishments of the first year of 103rd Congress. He stated that efforts are continuing to find a compromise on the Brady Bill and the Republican effort to filibuster the bill. Senator Mitchell threatened to call an emergency Senate session to debate the bill should the filibuster last past today. Senator Dole chose not to comment on the filibuster. The president made a brief opening statement and took a few questions from reporters. close
