The National Conference of State Legislatures held meetings in Washington D.C. and convened a number of panels including this on Youth Violence. The Department of Education’s director of Drug Planning and Outreach, William Modzeleski described legislation which affected the judicial processing of juvenile offenders. Dr. James Howell discussed research into youth violence and its implications for public policy during the panel. Following opening presentations the panelists took questions from the press and state legislators assembled in the audience. close
