The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Administrator Carol Browner announced that President Bill Clinton today signed an Executive Order that would require all federal agencies to consider the issues of environmental justice in their decision-making. The Executive Order sought to bring justice to low-income, minority communities and involve these communities in the decision-making of the government giving them access to the information needed to be full participants. Attorney General Janet Reno indicated that President Clinton asked her to make economic and environmental justice a priority and to ensure all communities in this nation have adequate environmental protection. close
