The situation in Korea is discussed at a House Armed Services Committee. Specialists believe that the North Koreans are building nuclear weapons. The government has refused to let United Nations inspectors visit suspected facilities, and North Korea’s ambassador to China has threatened war unless the U.S. cancels military excercises and Patriot weapon deployments to South Korea. Several Defense Department officials, and private analysts discussed these events witth the committee’s chairman Ron Dellums, and members of the panel. close
