In National Press Club’s occasional “Author’s Rap,” former Secretary

of State Kissinger discussed his new book, Diplomacy, about the

challenge of changing U.S. foreign policy at the end of the Cold War

and thus the end of a unique U.S. position of power in the world. He

commented that the U.S. should always make sure that it has a clear

sense of national interest before entering any delicate situation.

He responded to questions from members of the audience. close
