President Clinton discussed and took questions on health care in the heartland during a televised town hall meeting with citizens from Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Sioux Falls. The program originated from KSTP-TV studios in Minneapolis. The President centered on the health care reform plan’s principles of guaranteeing private insurance with comprehensive benefits; providing choice of doctors and health care plans; outlawing unfair insurance practices; ensuring coverage for Medicare, prescription drugs, and long-term care; and ensuring coverage through the workplace. The president was surrounded by a studio audience. He sat on a stool in the studio and walked among the crowd answering questions from four sites throughout Minnesota and North Dakota. close
