The President and First Lady watched as a Chicago police officer discussed the guns confiscated in a Chicago housing project. He stated that 1500 guns were confiscated in the first raid on the housing project. The President took questions from the reporters concerning gun violence and the progress of the President’s crime proposal. As the President left the room, a reporter asked for a clarification of President Carter’s comments to the President of North Korea. President Clinton said “I don’t know what he said. I don’t know if you know what he said. All I know is what I said, and what I said is the policy of the United States of America.” The President and First Lady were is Chicago for the first game of The World Cup. close
