Telephone lines were open for comments on the question, “What is the role of government in regulating what people eat or drink?” Mayor Michael Bloomberg (I) of New York City implemented controversial regulations on what people eat and drink, by regulating the size of the portions that are allowed to be sold in New York City. The regulations come as part of his expansive effort to decrease health risks and increase healthy behavior in New York City. Other regulations implemented include improving school lunches and promoting exercise. Viewer responses were taken via telephone and electronic devices. close
