The participants discussed crime and law enforcement issues. The panel looked at which prevention methods work, and how much they cost. Following their prepared remarks, they answered questions from the audience. Issues discussed were the increased prison population, crime & punishment being used as a political tool with little results, increased commitment rate for drug offenders while the rate for violent offenders dropped and releasing offenders without rehabilitating them when they returned to the community. close
