At a two-day White House Conference on Character Building, Mr. Amitai Etzioni, Communitarian Network Chairman, talked about the broadening of the communitarian movement to create a democratic society through strict character and democratic education. Mr. Etzioni is founder and chairman of the Communitarian Network, a nationwide group that describes itself as dedicated to the principle that citizens have responsibility to their community. The group believes in strengthening society through strong families, communities and schools. close
