Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Adam Clymer, New York Times Congressional Correspondent, talked about the legislative agenda after the holiday, including budget cuts. In a live interview, Ron Long, Committee of 1776 Chairman, talked about the gun rights rally to be held later that day at the Lincoln memorial. In the newspaper roundtable, Dee Dee Myers, Former Press Secretary Clinton Administration, and Lyn Nofziger, Former Political Advisor Reagan Administration, talked about current events and political issues. In the last segment, Commerce Secretary Ron Brown talked about the administration’s action against Japanese automobiles. close
