Dismantling Chemical Weapons Part 1 The subcommittee heard testimony from Defense Department officials and others on the demilitarization of stockpiled chemical munitions. The Defense Department plans to burn chemical weapons in nine states at a cost of over $11 billion. Reps. Hansen, Browder and Buyer questioned witnesses as “guest members” of the subcommittee. They are from states with weapons stockpiles under consideration. close
