Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Seib described the Iowa straw poll held over the weekend, and other topics. In the newspaper roundtable, Ms. Geyer and Mr. Maynes discussed defections in Iraq and other headline stories. In the feature segment, correspondents Warren and Christensen discussed whether all journalists should be required to disclose outside income received from speaking and other perks. Cohen and Salant participated by remote connection. C-SPAN employees Wright and Ellenwood described their experiences filming the “Germany Revisited” special which aired for 20 hours last week. Callers commented extensively about the Germany special and many faxes were read. close
