Women’s groups' representatives, Clinton administration officials, and others celebrated the 75th anniversary of women’s suffrage and the 1920 ratification of the 19th Amendment. Several historical re-enactors were present, the post office issued commemorative stamps honoring Alice Paul and a general women’s suffrage stamp. The 19th Amendment mandated that people could not be prohibited from voting because of gender. close
