Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Ms Feeney talked about the Republican presidential nominations race, Bosnia and other issues. Ms. Burnham talked about the French history exhibit at the Library of Congress. In the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Page and Mr. Ferguson talked about current news stories, including the O.J. Simpson trial. In the next segment, Mr. Terkel talked about his recent book, Coming of Age, which focuses on activities of older Americans throughout this century. In the next segment, Mr. Rifkin and Mr. Eisenach talked about the state of labor within the U.S. economy. In the last segment, Mr. Butler, Mr. Cannady and Rep. Ehlers talked about how politicians can use the Internet and other computer tools to communicate with voters. close
