President Ford opened this two-day forum on the 25th amendment which covers presidential succession and disability. In his remarks, he spoke about his personal connections with the 25th amendment. He also expressed his support for the amendment in its present form. The panel participants discussed the advantages and disadvantages of formalized contingency plans for implementing the 25th amendment when a president becomes disabled. The Forum took place at Wake Forest University Law School. The panelists took questions from the audience. close
