Participants gathered to honor Dr. King at a memorial breakfast. In his keynote speech, Mr. Jackson spoke about the continuing struggle for civil rights and political power by African-Americans. He also criticized those who portray Dr. King as too pacifistic rather than activistic. He also emphasized the need for African-Americans to keep dreaming about all they can be individually and communally. Mayor Barry also presented awards for community service. close
