House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R-Georgia, spoke about economic issues at a Republican fundraiser in Detroit. In his remarks, he emphasized that the key to the next century is the U.S. effort to renew its economy and society to assert the cause of freedom. He also maintained that balancing the budget and all that its parts the major step of this renewal.
