Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Ms. Leonard and Ms. Povich talked about the morning headlines, including the Republican primaries. In the next segment, Mr. Eklund talked briefly about the history of computer technology by remote connection. In the newspaper roundtable, Ms. Ingraham and Senator McGovern talked about the presidential primaries. Ms. Grote talked about her first vote by telephone. Mr. Samuels talked about his predictions for the '96 election as published in Harper’s Magazine by telephone. In the next segment, Mr. Rhodes talked about his book I Was There.
