Secretary Christopher announced the release of the annual Country Reports on Human Rights Practices for 1995, the annual nation-by-nation report on human rights around the world in 194 countries. He described the changes from the early annual reports and the changes in the world in 1995. Starting with the shootdown of U.S. civilian aircraft over Cuba, he gave a brief overview of the reports. State Department officials talked about human rights around the world with issues including women, genocide, attacks on the peace process and harboring war criminals. Officials then answered questions from the press. close
