Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers, interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Harden discussed Iranian arms permitted by the U.S. to be sold to Bosnia and other headline stories. Admiral Miller described the U.S. Navy Memorial and Naval Heritage Center and live shots were shown. In the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Hitchens and Mr. York discussed the morning headline stories including the plane crash in Croatia which killed Commerce Secretary Ron Brown and others on Wednesday. In the next segment Mr. Nemers described the U.S. Navy Memorial and took questions from viewers. In the last segment, Ms. Brod discussed the Washington Journal format and took comments from viewers. close
