Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Lippman talked about the morning headlines, including international events. In the next segment, Ms. Jones talked by remote connection about the National Building Museum. In the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Brooks and Mr. Reeves talked about current events including activities in the middle east. Ms. Farmer talked by telephone about her political views and entry in the C-SPAN scholarship competition. In the next segment, Mr. Gyllenhaal and Mr. McGuire talked about regional newspapers and the role of the media in society. In the next segment, Ms. Goldstein talked by remote connection about the Oklahoma City Exhibit at the National Building Museum. In the final segment, Mr. Lash talked by telephone talked about security in Washington, DC buildings. close
