Current events were examined through; newspapers, interviews with journalists/newsmakers/legislators; and viewer phone calls/faxes/e-mail. In the next segment, Senator Judd Gregg talked by remote connection about Commerce Department funding for fiscal year 1997. In the newspaper roundtable, Senator Thad Cochran and former Senator Howard Metzenbaum talked about current issues, including gasoline prices and international politics.
