Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, viewers called in to talk about the morning headlines. In the newspaper roundtable, Rep. Brownback and Senator Pryor talked about current issues including Senator Dole’s retirement from the Senate and budget issues. Ms. Beebe talked by telephone about her political views and future plans. In part 3 of 5 part series, on the Pentagon Papers, Mr. Goodale and Mr. Rosenthal talked about their experiences in the matter. In the next segment, Governor Knowles and Alaskan residents talked by remote connection about life in Alaska and the state itself. close
