Current news events and political issues were examined through reviews of the morning newspapers; interviews with journalists, newsmakers and legislators; and viewer telephone calls, faxes and electronic mail. In the first segment, Mr. Warren talked about the morning newspapers including former Senator Dole’s presidential campaign and current Washington investigations. In the next segment, Mr. McCann talked by telephone about the C-SPAN School Bus’s trip to Alaska. In the newspaper roundtable, Mr. Dettmer and Mr. Johnson talked about the Republican Party’s platform and other current issues. Mr. Steinberg talked about his political views and activities. In the next segment, Mr. Collins talked by remote connection about his work as a tour guide/ historian and proper etiquette concerning the flying of the U.S. flag. In the final segment, viewers' telephone calls were taken concerning the Pentagon Papers and other issues. close
