In response to the release of a recent report on teen drug use, committee members heard testimony from administration officials about the Clinton administration’s commitment to combating illegal drug abuse, especially among teenagers. They also heard from a former director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy. They testified about various strategies to curtail teen drug use, including education, reducing the supply, and punishing drug dealers. Several members also criticized the president for making drugs a low priority during his administration in contrast to the previous administration. close
