Panelists discussed the proper role of local, state and federal government and President Franklin Roosevelt’s legacy in this debate. They examined how President Roosevelt expanded the federal government’s role in several aspects of U.S. society and how this expansion continued and contracted over the subsequent fifty years. The two former members of the Roosevelt administration also shared their personal recollections of that era. The panelists also took questions from the audience. close
