Panelists talked about the humble backgrounds of political leaders and how this contributed to their careers. They analyzed how various presidents, especially Presidents Eisenhower, Nixon, Truman and Jackson, have defined themselves in order to connect with the electorate and how much of these identities were created or genuine. After individual presentations and a discussion period, they took questions from members of the audience. The event was held at Northwestern University School of Law. close
