In a speech at AMERICAN UNIVERSITY,presented by the KENNEDY POLITICAL UNION LECTURE SERIES

Sven Alkalaj, BOSNIAN AMBASSADOR TO THE UNITED STATES

spoke about America’s role in rebuilding Bosnian infrastructure and society, on the first anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Peace Accords .

He contrasted the devastation of the more than three years of war with the peaceful conditions over the past year, but stressed that civilian reconstruction has only just begun.

After his remarks, he took questions from the audience.
