Governor Beasley spoke to citizens in a statewide televised address about his proposal to change how the state displays the Confederate battle flag. He proposes to move it from its current position atop the state capitol, along with the U.S. flag and state flag, to two Confederate memorials near the capitol. Then two other state leaders responded to his address. close
