After being introduced by a local math and science teacher, President Clinton spoke to students and faculty at Glenbrook North High School about his education proposals. He highlighted several items, including college tuition tax credits and deductions, job training, connecting schools to the Internet and improving school infrastructure. He especially stressed the need for high standards in all subject areas, with local flexibility on how to meet them, to ensure U.S. children receive a proper education in an era of great technological development. close
