Secretary of State Madeleine Albright briefed reporters about the recertification of Mexico as an anti-drug ally. She said the president had denied recertification to Colombia and several other countries. He granted recertification to Mexico with the expectation that a series of objectives be met. Robert Gelbard, State Department Bureau of International Narcotics & Law Enforcement Affairs went into greater details of the Secretary’s remarks. He then took questions from reporters. close
