Julianne Malveaux talked about economics and working people. She said that the people who make policy are not those who live the policy and that the productive lives in communities, especially African Americans and women, were discounted in policy-making. She also talked about workers who earn the minimum wage, pointing out that government can ameliorate the effects of predatory capitalism. She discussed the need for entrepreneurial education and black economic development. After her prepared remarks, she took questions from the audience. close
