Patricia McGinnis, Counsel for Excellence in Government President and CEO, Robert Teeter, Republican Pollster, and Peter Hart, Democratic Pollster, released a survey of 1,003 citizens on levels of cynicism and distrust toward government. They highlighted the results of the poll and compared it to a similar survey conducted in March 1995. They stressed that although confidence in government has increased over the past two years, the public remains highly skeptical, especially toward the federal government and its spending practices. close
