In a luncheon address, Lady Thatcher spoke about the future of NATO, especially its expansion to include former Soviet bloc nations. She spoke about how NATO must adapt to changing security threats, including terrorism and regional conflicts, without creating a federal organization which would threaten the sovereignty and flexibility of the member states. After her prepared remarks, she took questions from the audience. This was part of the New Atlantic Initiative conference. close
