Labor Secretary Alexis Herman Participants spoke about the need to expand economic prosperity throughout the country. She spoke at a conference sponsored by the Economic Policy Institute titled “Restoring Broadly Shared Prosperity.” She was joined by AFL-CIO President John Sweeney. Ms. Herman expressed her hope that labor and business management could work more closely together to improve the lot of workers in the United States and move the poorest Americans into the middle class through work in good paying jobs.
