Members of the Kennedy family presented the eighth annual John F. Kennedy Profile In Courage Award to Montgomery County, Alabama Circuit Court Judge Charles Price. The award was created to honor courage in public life. Judge Price won this year’s award for his work on the separation of church and state and his devotion to the principles of the United States Constitution. Judge Price ruled that it was unconstitutional for a judge to display the Ten Commandments in public for religious purposes. Judge Price said that the honor was a “once in a lifetime experience” and detailed the difficulty of his decision but the conviction he had in making the decision which he called “legal and right.” close
