After a private meeting concerning the course of the investigation, committee members continued the investigation into campaign fund-raising abuses in the last election. Mr. Meddoff, who was a governmental affairs officer for the U.S. subsidiary of a Danish company, testified about his efforts to contribute to the Democratic campaign fund on behalf of a colleague named William Morgan in October 1996. He testified about conversations with Democratic and White House officials about and being instructed to non-profit organizations which would aid Democratic election efforts and then being asked by Harold Ickes to destroy the instructions. close
