Former UMASS-Boston Professor Irving Bartlett spoke about Edward Everett’s life and career as a classical scholar, politician and orator. Jim Cooke portrayed Edward Everett, the famous orator and main speaker at the dedication ceremony at the Gettysburg national cemetery. He spoke as Everett reflecting upon his life rather than giving any of his speeches. After Cooke’s presentation, he and Bartlett took questions from the audience. close
