Participants discussed the role of the Supreme Court in improving U.S. race relations. They examined the implications of the Piscataway v. Taxman case dealing with affirmative action, as well as other aspects of race relations, such as voting rights and criminal justice. Much of the discussion also focused on the pivotal role of Justice O’Connor in mediating between the two wings of the Court. They also took questions from the audience. close
