President Carlos Salinas de Gortari of Mexico discussed economic, political and social change in Mexico at the National Press Club. He also discussed the beneficial effects of debt renegotiation. He took questions from the assembled members of the club as moderated by Peter Holmes. The President’s appearance came during his visit to the United States which included a meeting with President George H.W. Bush. The speech was given in Spanish and translated to English. close
