Defense Secretary William Cohen announced the U.S. would buy 21 MIG-29 jet fighter planes, which are capable of carrying nuclear weapons, from Moldova to keep Iran and other rogue states from buying them. This is part of the U.S.-Russian Cooperative Threat Re-Education Program. The aircraft will be stored at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio. close
