In his weekly radio address, President Clinton talked about how his crime initiatives have helped to reduce crime in the U.S. He stressed the importance of community policing and the assault weapons ban. He also announced that Secretary Rubin would ban the importation of all modified assault weapons for 120 days to study the problem and that he and the Mexican president had signed an international agreement to help combat illegal gun trafficking. close
