Rep. McClintock, R-CA, says Ryan's Medicare proposal is drawn along the same lines as Medicare Advantage Plans; people will receive a long list of plans from which to choose, and they will receive care according to how old they are, how sick they are, and how poor they are.
Means testing Medicare - this is what I've been advocating with no one to heed all along. Why should those who are able to pay for their own health care be subsidized by others' tax dollars, and why should everyone not be responsible to pay for their own health insurance, albeit with a sliding scale to accommodate the poor?
I'm passionately for health care reform and vehemently against the Republican's position that the 30 million uninsured should be left without health care - as it is their own fault - and so am pleasantly surprised that this Republican proposal is a fair one. close
