Congressman Hank Johnson (D-Georgia) insults Jamiel Shaw, Sr. and Sabine Durden, witnesses at a House Judiciary Committee panel.
Shaw and Durden testified about how their children were killed by illegal immigrants with lengthy criminal records that qualified them for deportation long before their deadly acts. In his rambling speech that takes up his entire five minute interval, Rep. Johnson suggests the two have been brought before the panel to reinforce unfair prejudices about illegal immigrants for the benefit of private prison corporations and free-market lobbyists. Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte (R-Virginia) provides time for Ms. Durden and Mr. Shaw to respond after first dealing with a verbal spat between Johnson and Rep. Raul Labrador (R-Idaho), who remarked immediately afterward that what Johnson said was "ridiculous." close
