    Facebook and Twitter CEOs Testify on Regulating Social Media Content

    Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding the regulation of social media content and the 2020 presidential election. Mr. Zuckerberg outlined Facebook’s role in supporting the November elections and combating misinformation and voter suppression content. He told the committee that his company helped an estimated 4.5 million people register to vote. In addition, Mr. Dorsey discussed his company’s policy enhancements to protect the integrity of the 2020 elections. He said more than 300,000 tweets were labeled for disputed or potentially misleading content from October 27 to November 11, 2020.

    Google and Censorship

    A Senate Judiciary subcommittee held a hearing on Google and its censorship policy. Google’s public policy and government affairs vice president testified during the first part of the hearing. Witnesses in the second panel included Andy Parker, father of Alison Parker, who was killed during a live TV broadcast, and Dennis Prager, a conservative commentator, who claimed that Google and YouTube sought to restrict or remove his video content.

    2017 Conservative Political Action Conference, Global Threats and Violent Extremism

    Sebastian Gorka, a deputy assistant to the president and a National Security Advisory staff member joined other national security experts at the Conservative Political Action Conference to analyze the global threats facing America. The panelists focused much of their discussion on combating ISIS* and other violent extremist groups.

    This event was part of the American Conservative Union’s annual Conservative Political Action Conference, featuring a multi-day slate of conservative speakers, including White House officials and congressional lawmakers.
