The documentary, shot in eight weeks in the spring of 1968, shows participants from small towns in Mississippi travel to Washington, D.C, where they and others from across the country constructed tents and wooden shanties on the National Mall. The film, composed of scenes accompanied by audio recordings of participants, was made by Edward Scherer but never distributed.
