2015 Country Reports on Terrorism
State Department Acting Coordinator for Counterterrorism Justin Siberell spoke to reporters ahead of the daily briefing. He talked about the annual congressionally-mandated State Department Country Reports on Terrorism 2015 released that day. According to the report, the total number of terrorist attacks in 2015 decreased by 13 percent and the total deaths due to terrorist attacks decreased by 14 percent compared to 2014. The terrorist attacks were heavily concentrated geographically with 55 percent of all attacks taking place in iraq, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Syria, and Pakistan. He responded to questions from the reporters.
