LIVE from the National World War I Museum and Memorial
Kansas City, Missouri

The United States entered World War I a century ago, on April 6, 1917, when Congress voted to declare war on Germany. More than 4 million American men and women eventually served in uniform, and more than 100,000 died in the conflict. By 1917, the war was already in its third year. The influx of manpower from the U.S. changed the tide of the war, bringing it to a close 18 months later on November 11, 1918.

American History TV will be LIVE from the National World War I Museum & Memorial in Kansas City to mark this centennial. We'll learn about the memorial built to honor the Americans who served and the museum which preserves objects related to America's role in what was then called "The Great War." And we'll take viewer calls and tweets about America's entry into World War I.
